Fresh on the news that Faiveley of Nuits-St-Georges have taken a stake in the Williams Selyem Winery in the Russian River, Sonoma County, I decided to dust off the report of a fabulous tasting of old vintages, which the late Burt Williams presided over in Burgundy in November 2016 during his last visit to the region. This report was first published in the excellent World of Fine Wine magazine, with thanks to them for permission to reprint.
