The Christmas Season: 2018 Reports

We are coming to the end of the year and in theory it is time to wind down for Christmas – but I do still have some work to do! Having been tasting the 2018 vintage so intensely over the last six weeks I now have to fine tune my notes and the relevant scores and stars.

Chablis 2018 was published today. The Côte de Nuits 2018 Report will follow by Christmas Eve to be followed by the Côte de Beaune before New Year’s Eve, along with the Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Alongside these will be a separate report presenting the vintage as a whole – weather conditions, wine styles, pitfalls to avoid and potential joys to come. 2018 was a fascinatingly complex vintage, perhaps the least regular amongst the great years but with many wines of jaw-dropping brilliance. All will be revealed!
