Here’s wishing that all our subscribers have enjoyed a refreshing break at Easter. I have managed to get in some good walks in the surrounding woods – the image is of some Paschal or Pasque flowers on the plateau above Pommard and Volnay.
It is not a very optimistic time here though, with Lockdown #3 applying from the Easter weekend and a significant frost risk booked for the early mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week throughout the region. It is no longer legal to light bales of straw to throw up a smoke screen, but rest assured that vigilant vignerons will be up in the early hours lighting their ‘bougies’ or generating their wind turbines to fight off the cold air.
Though we have not uploaded many reports of late, this is neither because of illness nor laziness. I have been collecting a huge amount of content, while also working extremely hard on trying to meet the approaching deadline for version 2 of Inside Burgundy, the Book. Many reports are approaching completion, so the flow of new content will improve as we work through the spring and early summer.
Here’s wishing you all a happy and healthy April!
Best regards,
Jasper
