The Domaine is currently managed by Arnaud and David, sons of Roland. Typically for the region, the family’s land used to be polycultural, but Roland wanted to concentrate on the vines, and grew their vineyard holdings from 5 to 20 ha. Arnaud is in charge of the wine-making and is making a great job of it. This is a top source for Petit Chablis and Chablis. I have been consistently impressed by the single vineyard Chablis bottling, Vauprin, from a high-altitude vineyard above Lignorelles. The domaine completed organic certification in 2021.
In 2018 they were delighted to acquire a steep plot of 1er cru Vau de Vey which cannot be worked by tractor. There are also a few other cuvées, including Grands Crus, from purchased grapes. The latest news is the arrival of more vineyard land from their mother’s side of the family, in Bourgogne Tonnerre and Epineuil, including some of the best vineyards such as Grisey, Dannots and Fauconniers.
