Daniel Dampt, son-in-law of Daniel Defaix, is based in the Defaix stronghold of Milly. Here his sons Vincent and Sébastien have taken charge of the business, while also producing some wines under their own names. On the surface there might be nothing special here: the wines are machine harvested then vinified and matured in stainless steel, but if that sounds a little bit like mass production, the wines belie that image and can be very good indeed. The Dampts know their terroirs intimately and take all the care necessary to produce more than competent wines. This is an exemplary source for Côte de Léchet and Vaillons. The domaine is currently undergoing HVE certification.
