Domaine Gueguen

Updated Sep 2022

Frédéric Gueguen is of a Breton family, as his name suggests, but local on his mother’s side. Cousins include Francis Boudin, Jean-Paul Durup and Philippe Goulley. His wife Céline is daughter of Jean-Marc and Claudine Brocard, and a significant part of Domaine Gueguen’s vineyards come from her mother’s holdings in and around St Bris. Production from this sector includes a unique old vine wine made 100% from the Sacy grape. Their Chablis holdings are mostly in Préhy and Chichée, including 1ers crus Vaucoupin and Vosgros. The grapes are picked by machine and made in stainless steel, while the vineyards certified HVE.

The Gueguens live in Préhy, make their wine in La Chapelle Vaupelteigne and now have a boutique for sales and tasting in central Chablis. A project is about to get under way to redevelop the classic old hotel Etoile (Chez Bergerand) though this will take time.
