Bruno Colin

Updated Sep 2022

Bruno Colin, younger son of Michel Colin-Deleger, works from his father’s premises in Chassagne itself. These are bright, breezy white wines, immediately accessible. There is no rocket science in their making, but rather intelligent interpretation of the current norms: lutte raisonnée in the vineyards. The strength of the domaine, which extends into five different villages, is the wide range of Chassagne- Montrachet terroirs.

The usual plan is to destalk the reds but Bruno decided to keep 10% of the stems in 2019 for the 1ers crus. Reds have gone well for Bruno over the last three or four years, probably a vintage effect but also not pushing extraction so far. Bruno started moving to 350 litre barrels from 2015, in both colours.

Bruno clearly has a commercial gene which has encouraged him to develop significant negociant bottlings as well.
