Light and bright in colour, less dense than the 1971 or 1947 for example, but really intense fresh fruit, joyous cherry notes – how can this be so pure?! This really is brilliant, transcending even the gorgeous 1937. Despite the youth, this wine has clearly taken a long time to reach this moment of exquisite balance. This is an effortless tribute to the glories of Burgundy and what Clos des Lambrays can achieve at its very best.
