Discoveries in the Côte de Beaune

Jasper Morris MW  Jun 2025

This spring, I visited a few domaines which were new, or nearly new to me. They vary in size from the embryonic Domaine Briotet d’Aprigny to the much more substantial Vignobles Ludovic Pierrot which has emerged out of the former Domaine Michel Clair. Not included in this quartet is Domaine Emmanuel Sainson, based in La Rochepot in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, since his wines are all from the Beaujolais where he has taken over the Domaine Haut de la Combe in Juliénas on the retirement of Vincent Audras. I will attach those wines to my annual Beaujolais report.

Each of the four producers below make wines in interestingly different styles. I will leave you to work your way through them to see where you might find a match for new opportunities.
