How do Chablis producers view the state of the newest vintages? I've been visiting the little town, to taste and catch up with friends old and new in the region. I'll be sharing the results of my visit all week – follow along for a glimpse of some favourite faces from the domaines, snaps of the bottles tasted, as well as news and local reflections on the 2024 vintage.

@tomjkline tastes 22 Chardonnays from the region redefining what Australian Chardonnay can be. A fascinating report on an under-the-radar area that nonetheless includes such Australian powerhouses as Giaconda, Savaterre, and Fighting Gully Road.

Starting a few days doing a deep dive into Gevrey-Chambertin:
1 & 2: Charles Magnien in his beloved Cazetiers vineyard, before heading to Pierre Duroché to try a range of his excellent 2023s.
3: Just leaving a few minutes to enjoy in Domaine Fourrier’s Combe aux Moines.
4: Not a bad way to finish a great tasting at Domaine Rossignol Trapet
5: Arthur Clair waxing lyrical in the cellars. We also enjoyed a great Cazetiers vertical with his brother Edouard
6: Next stop, Domaine Rebourseau with new technical director Sylvain Pabion
7: A few Gevrey gems at our last night dinner...
8: And I added in this ancient gem from Au Bon Climat, still in fine condition
