One of the wonderful features of Burgundy is the multiplicity of place names, many of which feature in several different appellations. Theoretically, there is a reason behind each name. In this tasting we take a look at the magical name of Charmes which can be found at village, premier cru and grand cru level. Is there a thread which links the Charmes vineyards in different villages?
Join me in the second edition of this series exploring the multi-faceted subject of terroir, to find out where the name came from and how they all link up.
